The offence of going over the speed limit was created to improve road safety and offer guidance to drivers. When it is applied correctly it can do exactly that. But the the problem we are faced with today, more and more people are found to be breaking the law by not sticking to these limits which in turn is compromising safety on the roads. By speeding you are not only putting yourself in danger but everybody else on the roads around you.
There may be people out there who do want to stick to the speed limit and this is their intentions when out on the roads but others don't comply. The fundamental reason everyone should stick to speed limits is simply, to make our roads safer. When you are driving at 35mph, statistically you are twice as likely to kill someone than if you were driving at 30mph. Modern day cars are smooth to drive so you may not even realise you're doing it, but be aware as this too is not an excuse. You will risk losing your licence if caught speeding with more people being caught everyday for speeding.
So make the right move when you are on the roads and stick to the correct speed limit to benefit yourself but more importantly everybody else around you. If you can't see any signs of the speed limit when on the roads then treat it at 30 to make them a lot safer to be on.
