My Inaugural Day Product Launch Disaster
My Inaugural Day Product Launch Disaster

During the Inaugural Day, I tried to do my first ever product launch. It was for a information product that showed how I created and sold about a half a dozen products in the past 5 years. I put all my experience in a product and though I would do my own product launch.

Well everyone else was doing it, how hard can it be? It was a total disaster! Here are some of the lessons from that debacle.

1. I didn't get enough JV partners. For some reason I assumed that the 1000+ people who attended my seminars would automatically become my JV partners, boy was I disappointed. Some people that I helped promote just plain said go away. Huge lesson learned there.

2. I put an arbitrary date (Inaugural Day) so I have no way to move the launch when I realized that I would fail, I gave it a name that put me against the wall. Never use something like Thanksgiving Day Launch, basically you will be in the same boat I was. Shows how dumb I was.

3. No coach. Since it was my first product launch I should have hired a coach.I had 2 product launch experts teach at my bootcamps and I went trough their materials but that was not enough. You should hire a mentor or coach if you decide to do this to at least take a look from another angle.

4. No conversion test. This was perhaps the worst mistake. I tested the optin form and it converted around 45%, but I never did a test to a sub-list to make sure the sales converted. That was a huge mistake!

And much more. If you ever decide to do a product launch, get some help. That is one of the reasons I started a blog to gather more information on product launhes, check it out.
