When we are young, having a bad hair day was one of our worries but as we get older, the worry on top of the hair list is being bald. What is worse about being bald is that the hair will keep falling although you prevented it from losing. There are medical reasons to hair loss or hair fall and there is no way to stop yourself from going bald.
One of the reasons to hair loss is hormones. Hormones influence us in many ways including hair growth. So, this means that both men and women go through hair loss. It is believed that hair loss in both genders is different. Patterns and runs occur for hair loss in men while women go through hair loss or hair thinning without specific pattern.
In women, childbirth plays the main reason for hair loss. This happen because expecting mothers go through many changes during pregnancy and hair loss is not excluded. However, hair loss will not last forever as hair will stop falling after the birth of the baby.
Women who inherited Androgenic Alopecia and taking birth control pills can lead to hair loss. If anyone in your family is bald or facing hair loss, make sure you see a doctor before taking birth control pills as it will worsen your hair loss. However, at times hair loss only lasted for less than 6 months but that specific area will be bald as hair fail to grow on that area.
Imbalance nutrients in our body, specifically vitamins, minerals and iron can cause hair loss too. All nutrients needed in our body obviously play important roles and loss in those nutrients will cause hair fall.
Finally, illness can also cause hair loss. For example cancer patients go through hair loss due to chemotherapy. Other serious illness such as diabetes will also cause hair loss in both men and women.
