When it comes to list building, many people know that they need to sign up for an autoresponder service, create an opt-in page that contains an incentive for your visitors to give you their first name and email address, and after your visitors have signed up to become your list subscriber, you'll need to build a relationship with them.
But just how exactly do you build a relationship with your list subscribers, and gain the trust from them that you are someone who can help them with their problems (in the niche that you are in), and that they can trust your product recommendations?
What I'm going to share with you in this post are 5 simple tips that you can use that will help you build an effective 2-way relationship between you and your list subscribers.
1. Self-Introduction
One of your initial emails that you send out to your list subscribers should always be a self-introduction email.
In that email, you can introduce yourself as how you would do so when you first meet somebody for the first time. You can talk a little bit about your experience in the niche area that you are in, as well as how you can help them with any questions they have about the niche topic as a friend.
2. Keeping In Touch
By keeping in touch, I do not mean you should spam their email inbox with your emails in 1 single day.
Rather, you should email them periodically - Such as once every 3 to 4 days. And your emails should be a mix of informational emails (where you share some useful information pertaining to the niche that you are in with your subscribers) and promotional emails (where you attempt to sell them something).
3. Find Out What They Want To Know
Remember, the only way you can generate lots of sales is to give your customers what they want (and not what you want). And the best way to find out what they want is to ask them directly.
You can send them an email asking them what they want to know pertaining to the niche topic that you are in from time to time (maybe once every month).
Based on the information you've collected, you can provide information based on what your list subscribers want, along with products and/or services that you think will help them in their areas of concerns.
4. Provide Value To Your Subscribers
Do not attempt to sell your subscribers something in every single email that you send out.
What you should do is that you should provide value to your subscribers - And you can do so by sharing some tips, tricks, or useful information on the niche topic that you are in that you think will benefit your subscribers.
If what you are going to share is going to be very long, what you can do is to give them a brief summary of it in your email, followed by a link to your website where they can visit to read the information in full details.
5. Foster 2-Way Communication
What you can do here is, in some of the emails that you send out where you share with them some tips, tricks or useful information pertaining to the niche subject that you are in, you can ask them for their input - Such as how they found your information (whether or not it is useful), or if they have any tips that they would like to share with the others (and make sure you credit your subscribers for the tip when you share their tips in one of your email messages), etc.
The above are 5 simple tips that you can use to build a strong relationship with your list subscribers. Bear the above 5 tips in mind and I'm very positive that you will have very successful list building campaigns.
