upgraded your iPhone to iOS4, there is no going back. I have tried a couple of methods that claim you can upgrade your iPhone and still revert back to an earlier OS. Frankly, it caused so many bugs, I spent more time trying to fix them than I was just using the phone normally. In other words, I dont recommend it. Now my second disclaimer. If you enjoy using the tweaks that we have talked about over the past couple of months, you will either need to wait to upgrade or deal with not having them. I have found very few tweaks and applications that are compatible with the new update.
Now that I have said my piece, lets get you ready to jailbreak and unlock.
1. You will need to download iOS4 for the iPhone 3G (link to download)
2. If you havent updated your iTunes to 9.2 yet, you will need to do so. (link to download)
3. You will need to download redsn0w 0.9.5b5-3. If you have a mac (link to download) or if you have a PC (link to download) it works on both systems.
4. Now that you are prepared for jailbreaking and unlocking, you need to start by restoring your iPhone and updating to iOS4 with iTunes. If you rely on an unlock to use your iPhone on T-Mobile, make sure that you have your T-Mobile sim card placed inside your iPhone when beginning this process.
Before you proceed to the next step, you will need Sony vgp-bps2b batteryto connect your iPhone to your computer and then turn it off. You can severely damage your device if you do not make sure that your iPhone is turned off.
