Social Book Marking Social bookmarking sites are a way for people to share interesting content that they have found on the internet with friends and random people they have never met. By submitting your web page to these sites it counts as a vote, the more bookmarks a site receives the more members are exposed to your links and the more traffic you will get. It also has a search engine optimization benefit to your website as the links it generates to your site will help push you higher in the search engine results pages (AKA SERP's). Article Marketing This a good way to get lots of exposure for your website, there are literally hundreds of article directories that allow you to submit content, 3 of the largest ones are, ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com and articlebase.com. When you submit articles to these sites a few things tend to happen, you get on site traffic to your article, you get search engine traffic to your article (as these sites rank well in the search engines) but you also get people who can copy your article to their own websites as long as they leave your link in, So you get traffic from other peoples websites. And on the rare and lucky occasion that someone decides to publish your article in their online newsletter you will get a flood of traffic to your website. Squidoo This is a web 2.0 site that allows users to create web pages, they rank very well in the search engines and are very flexible about what kind of content you can include. It is OK to advertise products and services from these pages as they are a lot more relaxed than articles. Hub Pages This site is very similar to Squidoo and it also ranks very well in the search engines so be sure to copy your squidoo content onto a hub page as well to get even more exposure. Blogger.com A popular Blogging platform allows you to post content, manage RSS feeds, ping blog search engines and all the normal blogging stuff. They rank well in the search engines and are a good place to syndicate your content to. Wordpress.com This is like Blogger in terms of the style of website but runs off the wordpress Blogging engine. They make software that you can install on your own web servers to use as Blogging platforms. But also have their own web based Blogging platform that you can use just like Blogger. Again get your content onto this site too. RSS Directories Once you have all your content on Squidoo, Hub Pages, Blogger and WordPress you can now take advantage of the fact that all these sites run RSS feeds, you can now take these feeds and submit them to RSS Directory sites to get links and more traffic. Press Releases PR Web is by far the best press release site, but it is quite expensive and there is no guarantee that any media outlet will publish your article. Viral eBooks If you have content that you want to distribute you can turn it into a viral ebook, give the rights for people to redistribute your eBook freely without modification and include a link to your website. You can get this kick started by submitting your eBook to one of the many eBook directory sites that are on the internet. Do a Google search for eBook directory to get a list of them. Video Marketing This is a fantastic source of free traffic with video sites appearing all around the internet and millions of people flocking to watch, there is no better time to be involved in video marketing.
