Possibilities of getting injured can't be overlooked for any of the outdoor games and paintball is not an exception in this regard. Some accidents on a paintball field may lead to minor injuries while others may lead to temporary damage. No matter whether you are a man or woman, you must keep in mind the following paintball safety rules to stay away from the possible threats on a paintball field.

Use of Safety Gear

Never ever take off the paintball mask once you are on a paintball field. The mask should be at its place until and unless you leave the field. Same rules should be followed when you wear goggles and safety pads for knees, elbows and groin area. Men should take special care to avoid damage to their sensitive organs in case a high speed paint ball hits there.

Some Important Figures

You must learn and follow some important figures while playing paintball. Make sure that you don't shoot at a player who is less than 20 feet apart. Another important thing is that the velocity of the pain ball should not go over 300 feet per second.

Taking Care of Barrels

You must carry barrel plugs or barrel socks to the paintball field to ensure that the gun doesn't automatically shoots out. You must keep these safety components on when the gun is not in use. You must never look down the barrel, as accidental shoot out may lead to self injuries.

Give Chance to Surrender

You must give chance to a player who is less than 15 feet from you and is not willing to shoot. You can ask the player to surrender verbally and allow him or her to retire from the field.

Be Prepared Mentally

It is strictly recommended to avoid consuming alcohol or any type of drugs before entering the paintball field. You have to ensure that your mind is in the correct form and not pre-occupied. Don't indulge in verbal abuse with other players. Make sure that you don't shoot out blindly in anger as it may hit the retiring player or the referee.

Paintball, like all other games, should be enjoyed in the safe manner and in the right spirit. This enhances the fun and pleasure associated with this all-time favorite outdoor game.
