Vitamins are those elements found natural in the nature and are needed in very small quantity by the body for proper and normal growth and development while maintaining overall health of the body. It also plays many important roles in the metabolism of the body. Hence any amount of deficiency is sure to lead ones body into havoc malfunctioning in various activities of metabolism.

They are widely categorized into two types which are known as water soluble and fat soluble. The vitamins that are in the water soluble category includes Vitamin B complex and Vitamin C. the name comes from the fact that they are soluble in water. It may be a good or bad property of these kinds of vitamins is that the body absorbs only that much which is required by the body while the rest is flushed out from the body as urine. Hence there is a tendency for the people to have a deficiency of these kinds of water soluble vitamins.

The other category i.e. fat soluble vitamins includes Vitamins A, D, E, K. these types of vitamins are absorbed by the body through the intestinal regions. These are the types of Vitamins that can be easily stored inside the body hence deficiency is less in the body.

But this thing also applies for the fact that if taken more than adequate it may also lead to the occurrence of toxic levels in the body.

Not only are these but there also other use of vitamins available in the market. There are many vitamins that are strong anti-oxidants, hence help in countering the destructive effects of the free radicals. Hence vitamin supplements are necessary to put a hold on many degenerative conditions that includes premature aging.
