It was late 2007 a Brisbane heat wave was washing over everything, the sun shone through the windows and illuminated the dust as i moved about packing boxes and sweating away. The movers were due tomorrow crossed my mind, frustrated in the knowledge i had to get things done.

I walked one last time through all the empty rooms and waited. it was not until they began to move my things did it become clear we'd made a mistake. The removalists for one came to redefine "rough as guts" my wife asked them not to smoke in the house or garage which they whole heartly ignored, then while continuing to smoke damaged the walls moving cabinets out of the house, breaking one of the cabinet doors off in the process. I got frustrated by this point on hearing the banging of cabinets against the walls and the smell of smoke. I asked them to be careful and not to smoke in the house, a response was along the lines of "yeah sure" and i was paying $230 an hour. After it was all over i ended up with a move costing around $1200, 3 scratched cabinets, one with a snapped off door, a gash on the front of the fridge, 3 screws missing from the bed (making it impossible to assemble) and a coffee table with a leg missing. this was my first experience moving with a company and i still don't know how they managed to lose a table leg. But it was at this point i decided to start a company based on customer service it was a big decision and real direction; i always been one for causes and i felt this is mine, Movers Brisbane is born.
