ASCENDING INTO THE HILL OF GOD (PART 2)
In the first part of this article, I mentioned the categories of people in Christendom, the hill of the Lord, the blessing involved and a powerful spiritual proclamation for the seekers of His face. In this second part, I'm going to talk about things that do debar a saint from ascending but before that let me continued from that spiritual promise or assurance mentioned in Psalm 17 vs. 15. Do you know that this verse is somehow connected with the issue of resurrection? Putting aside that Christ Jesus resurrected from the dead, don't you think this has to do with the resurrection of the saints in the spirit? Waking up the spirit man to supercede this mortal body of ours? When this happens, the glory of His Son reflects in us and around us. God had prepared this to be the inheritance of mankind i.e. "But as many that received him, to them gave he power to become sons of God, even to them that believe on his name"(John 1:2). All those who believed and received Him only have the right to tap into this inheritance of His glory. God wants us to be like Him. So, when you behold the face of God, you'll be contented and be like Him (that "likeness" talked about). No wonder that when Jesus conquered, He was said to be "the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person". Brethren, do you know there are some things that may prevent you from ascending into that hill and prevent you from being part of that inheritance? Well, the apostle Paul said in the book of Philippians 4 vs. 19 that,
"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus" (NKJV).
This shows that there are some riches prepared by God Himself that He is ready to give unto mankind but we saints are not fully developed yet. We are still earthly, not desiring for these things. Shifting back to what might or is preventing us, I told you that vanity is part of it but I want you to know that it is more than that. Have you ever asked yourself why you do desire after vanity? All those earthly things that is unlawful for the lips of a saint to even mention? Do you think is ordinary for you attending a bible study? You may not even know how many warrior angels fought before you desire to attend the bible meeting. It is because there are forces that don't want you to know God. Listen!
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places" (Eph. 1:12).
So, you know what you're up against! Let's put warfare actions or issues apart; I'm talking of warring with your desires. These desires are not ordinary. We Christians don't desire for heavenly things again but earthly possessions. Although Jesus advised us,
"Do not store up riches for yourselves here on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and robbers break in and steal. Instead, store up riches for yourselves in heaven, where moths and rust can not destroy, and robbers cannot break in and steal. For your heart will always be where your riches are" (GNB, Matt 6:19-21).
These desires are engineered by these powers, principalities, spiritual wickedness and rulers of darkness. They are the one controlling our desires, making us to run after ephemeral things. These beings are the spirits that rules in the "air". Have you ever asked yourself why it difficult to obey or follow the things written in the bible? Why do you find it difficult to read the bible or do that which you want to and not sinning but you do otherwise? We wrestle with our desires, trying to break free and even apostle Paul was a witness of these things when he said,
"For what I'm doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do" (Rom 7:15).
It is because of these spirits that rules in the "air". These spirits has sworn that you won't ascend into that hill, nor be a part of the inheritance. They have sworn that you won't grow spiritually. I want you to know that the greatest battle is not against witches and wizard but these beings that have determined that you will never know God or come a little bit closer to Him. The "air" is another realm of the spirit, the boundary between heaven and earth. Whoever has the "air" is at an advantage and this makes it easier for them to rule over our desires. The "air" originally belongs to Adam and not Lucifer. There are powers programmed in the "air" that whoever has it controls it. But when Adam fell, the "air" was seized by Satan and his fallen angels. Although, we still have people who operates in the "air" and on our earthly plane. John the Baptist doesn't perform any miracle but he was a man that operates in the "air" plane. Daniel is also a man of the "air" and because of him; angels were stoned from heaven to earth and from earth to heaven. When I talk of prophets that are not on our plane, prophets who operates in the "air", I'm not talking of people or prophets who see visions. I'm talking of prophets or people who knows God; the likes of Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Obadiah and so on. The ministry that Satan is usually afraid of is the prophetic ministry, prophets that are raised to be sons of God in the priestly order. These beings want to make us earthly, that we may not ascend into that sacred hill of God. The book of Ephesians 2:2 confirmed the power of Satan,
"In which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience".
Note what he is referred to or called here, "the prince of the power of the air". This confirms what I said earlier that there are powers deposited in the "air" and now that he hijacked it, he became their prince. The sacred hill or Mount Zion is made up of the conglomeree of saints forming the whole mountain, that even those at its base are not ordinary people. The sacred hill is full of inheritance, riches in glory and treasures beyond human understanding and it takes a spirit man to perceive it.
More of this will come your way in the third part which will also focus on the building up of the saints and coming of the Master. May the good grace of our Lord Jesus be with all saints!
