With all the devices available to us these days, it's hard to not have some with rechargeable batteries. It could be your golf cart, battery powered tools and anything in between. When these rechargeable batteries fail, we have to fork over money to buy a new expensive replacement for it.
What if you could get around having to buy a new battery? Why not learn to recondition the batteries back to life so they can still hold a full charge and be used again? The procedure is not difficult and is something you can do at home with inexpensive instruments.
Lead acid batteries like the auto and golf cart batteries have cells with plates in them that become coated with a deposit that robs the battery of its ability to hold a charge, thus it becomes useless. With lead acid batteries, reconditioning them will remove the accumulated deposits and allow the battery to be put back into operation.
You can restore other rechargeable batteries such as those for your laptop, battery drill, cell phone, razor and others. Why throw out the battery and hunt down a replacement or buy a new appliance when you can restore the existing battery? Many batteries will develop what is called memory effect which prevents them from getting a full charge, reconditioning them will reverse this effect.
I must say that not every battery can be restored. There are maybe 95% of them you can work with, the rest are beyond restoring. Also do not try to recondition Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) batteries which can be found in some laptops and cell phones, make sure you check the battery pack to see which kind you have.
