Are The Bar Scenes Getting Old?
Sick of the bar scene, I signed up for a VIPsingles dating service my friend had recommended. I'm an attractive female, and grew weary of drunks hitting on me all the time at bars. It seemed like no matter where I went, men wanted to use cheesy lines to our mutual embarrassment. It got to the point I didn't want to go out at all. Needless to say, that problem is no longer an issue.
I chose an Internet dating service for one simple reason the online compatibility assessments. I've been using the service for about four months now. I'm a very busy person, so have only sent a few messages to other users. I have to admit I've been very pleased with the results. I've met genuine people with real lives. Some interactions have developed into friendships, and others are in a we'll see state. That's fine by me. I'm interested mainly in going out with a man whose sole interest isn't to get in my pants. So far, I have not been disappointed.
What I also have come to like about using a service is the flexibility and choices available. I can send messages (like email), chat online, or call. I choose how much information I want to disclose and when. Also, I'm more confident in my exchanges with men. Knowing they're going to appreciate the real me, I know they aren't just interested in a one night stand or hooking up.
Ironically, I enjoy the bar scene even more now. I guess the pressure to meet someone whenever I was there before was hidden somewhere in the back of my head. Now I go out with zero expectations just to hang out with my friends and have a good time. So it's been a success at multiple levels. If you haven't tried a dating service, give it a whirl. You have nothing to lose.
