Avoiding the Common Mistakes of New Internet Marketers

When you are beginning online, it is important to understand the reality behind the myths so you can position yourself for success. There is a lot of information on the web that contains good methods but it is clothed in false perceptions and does not offer value to the world. To truly become a leader, you must think outside the box and refrain from getting stuck in the misconceptions. Here are a few of them:

How much does it cost?

If you are looking for a new business opportunity or system to implement, don't get jammed with prices. Look for value first. I find it remarkable that people will spend money on college education, certificates, educational courses, computers and anything else that will enrich their lives, but they don't want to spend any money to develop an incredible internet business. It's almost like the "paralysis by analysis" type thinking. They stay stuck in the preparation phase and never enter the action phase.

How much time will it take me to succeed?

If you are asking this question, internet marketing may not be the right thing for you. I teach in my "Accelerated Leader Development Program" that the key to getting anywhere is contingent on your determination, hard work and ability. So how much time will it take you to succeed? It will take you as long as it takes you to act on the methods and accomplish your goals. Contrary to what you see in the latest best selling ebooks, there are no shortcuts to creating wealth online. Everyone takes the same steps to get there and the longer you are busy searching for shortcuts, the more time you are putting off the inevitable, which is working to succeed.

Build your Campaign for People, not Google

Here is another snag I see new marketers fall into. They are so intent on gaining rankings in the search engines or getting more traffic to their sites they forget the people they are targeting. They use all of their time on search engine optimization methods and forget about the ACTUAL people who are reading their content. The search engine may help you gain traffic but they won't help you sell a product. Without people Google wouldn't exist and neither would your business. Focus on the user first and see what a difference it makes in your profits.
