The owner of Msafini Hotel has been in the hotel business for more than 18 years. Msafini is a newly established hotel in shella, designed and constructed in both new and ancient design and architecture
Lamu District is located on the northern most part of the Coast province of Kenya and it borders Ijara District to the North, Tana River district to the west and south and the Indian Ocean to the east. It covers a total area of 6814 sq km is made up of islands which Amu is the most notable. Lamu district is sometimes referred to as the cradle of Swahili civilization owing to the existence of hundreds of Swahili Islamic sites and monuments dotted all over the interior and in the archipelago. Some of the sites harbour history dating back to 8th century AD.
The hotel is situated in such a location that it gives a complete view of the whole village as well as a clear scenery of the Indian Ocean and other islands.
The hotel consists of 14 rooms, all of which have access to their own private balcony's'. Honeymoon suits are also available which have spacious balcony's' with traditional chairs and beds arranged around.
We offer different excursions and activities in wonderful archipelago of Lamu. Msafini Hotel is located in Shella village, which is 15 minute boat ride away from lamu.
HOW TO GET HERE...
You can reach Shella by bus or by plane, from where our private dhow will pick you and ride you to Msafini Hotel, which is about 15 - 20 minutes away from the airport and the bus stand.
Regular flights fly to and from Lamu similarly daily bus services are also available...
