If you are looking for a great break to use up the last of your annual leave then why not try one of these beautiful places?

Florence Florence ranks as the art centre of the universe for many, but its often hard to take it in among the throngs of human traffic that descend in the summer months. Visit in the winter for a more chilled version, and its cool and easy to breathe. Perfect.

The Great Smokey Mountains the Smokies are the most visited national park in the USA, and the mountains are breathtaking all year round, cloaked in blue mist. Go in the winter when the weather isn't too over bearing and remember these spectacular views for the rest of your life.

Marrakesh stone washed in red, the city is its prettiest in the winter, when although still warm, you can see the snow capped atlas mountains in the backdrop and the heat is lessened. See colourful souks, olive groves, palaces and mosques. Hike up the mountains and go to the coast nearby for some sunbathing.

New England in the fall, when the leaves are turning and the weather is getting colder, new England is one of the prettiest places in the world, try Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire and see the beautiful rivers, chocolate box houses, and a great way to see the attractions is to rent a cap and trip around.
