Blackberry has recently unveiled its new flagship model Blackberry Torch 9800 on American carrier AT&T's website. It is the first mobile phone that runs on the next generation Blackberry 6 operating system offering a better web browsing experience. It has also integrated social features in order to make easier for Blackberry users to keep in touch with their friends through social networks. The high-profile launch comes as the Waterloo, Canada, Blackberry comes under intense scrutiny by authorities in Saudi Aradia, the United Arab Emirates and India to provide greater access to the encrypted information sent by its devices.
Blackberry Torch 9800 is the first device of RIM which is well equipped with a touchscreen and a slide-out Qwerty Keypad. Featuring a 3.2-inch touchscreen display with 360 x 480 pixels resolution, the phone weighs 5.8 ounces. It supports an optical trackpad too. Mike Lazaridis, co-chief executive of Research in Motion, said "This platform is the outcome of Research in Motion's ongoing passion to deliver a powerful, simplified and optimized user experience for both touch-screen and keyboard fans."
