A source of Energy is always in demand and somehow there is never enough available.Scholars would say that Energy sources are what ultimately drives the economy andimprove the lives of human beings by outlining the relationship between energy and theability to do work. The global economy depends heavily on the use of fossilized fuels asa form of energy, the major example of course being crude oil. The disadvantages ofusing this are becoming increasingly apparent and movements are being made todiversify how energy is harnessed.More recently Solar Panels are being utilized to capture the energy from the sun which inturn requires that less energy expended by burning fuels.
This serves to save some theenergy sources that are found within the earth. The construction of the Solar Panel isextremely simple and this is where the benefits really appear. Without analyzing thescience behind it, the Solar Panel is mainly constructed with semiconductor material andglass, both of which can be manufactured from silica and of which there are abundantsources. Silica can be derived from many sources but most notably regular sand whichcan be found on beaches or even the desert. The Solar Panel itself needs very littleMaintenance as there are no moving parts. The Solar Panel connects directly to the Electricity's point of supply via a conductive lineor cable.
This makes integration into a national grid very easy, eliminating the need for afuel extraction point, pumping stations, transmission pipelines, and a generating plant. This in itself saves energy, there is no work required for major construction, no usage oflarge portions of land. The resources for creating and maintaining these can now be usedelsewhere. Structures for supporting the Panels are not complex.
They are only requiredto hold the panel with little rotation depending on the orientation of the sun.Already major countries are expanding their use of renewable energy by the use of SolarPanel technology. The Solar Panel is one of the more attractive alternative to harnessingenergy as it does not degrade the environment in any foreseeable way. Less energy can bespent thus correcting the environment when Solar Panels and other renewable energyforms become mainstream.
The energy derived from these panels cannot as yet replace completely the energysupplied by burning fossils. Also a lot of land space is required for the placement of thesepanels if they are to supply energy to a Utility Grid. For now they must be used inconjunction with existing sources of energy capture to meet the Energy demand of theworld. There is no doubt however that in the near future the Solar Panel and associatedtechnologies will play a vital role in supplying energy to the Globe.
