Just some things about Rolex watch

Alfred Davis. Contrary to popular belief, Hans Wilsdorf was neither Swiss, nor a watchmaker. Wilsdorf & Davis was the original name of what later became the Rolex Watch Company. They originally imported Hermann Aegler's Swiss movements to England and placed them in quality cases made by Dennison and others. These early wristwatches were then sold to jewelers, who then put their own names on the dial. The earliest watches from the firm of Wilsdorf and Davis are usually marked "W&D" - inside the caseback only.

Hans Wilsdorf registered the trademark name "Rolex" in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland in 1908. The origin of the name is obscure. One story, which was never confirmed by Wilsdorf, is that the word "Rolex" came from the French phrase horlogerie exquise, meaning exquisite watch industry. Another is that the name was chosen to indicate movement when spoken in English. A number of improvements led to a change in the original shape of the Datejust model during the 1970's. A person wearing a Datejust model could easily adjust the date function without having to turn the crown over and over again - this was an impressive feature called the "Quick-set". This feature was responsible in solving one of Rolex's major problems and by the year 1983, all Rolex models had this feature.Replica Rolex Day-Date and Rolex Datejust are without doubt one of the two most popular model in the Rolex collection. Since both of the watches look practically the same it is easy to get confused ,especially when you are purchasing on the internet, and you are only able to see pictures. The usual question is :"What is the difference between these two models?"

In reality both watches are the same except for the size difference. The Datejust case measures 36 mm in width and its bracelet is 20 mm. While the Date has 34 mm case and 19 mm Band. Therefore what makes them distinct is 2 mm on the case and 1 mm on the band. If you are at a jewelry shop would be easy to distinguish them when you have the watches side by side . However what if you do not have them to compare because you only see one model at the store or because you see it on the internet? Well it is easy if you have the reference number. It will all depend how old the watch is and what features it has. As a rule of thumb keep in mind that Datejust will have 16 in between and the Date 15 in between. Usually sellers put the model numbers on the descriptions of items , if not just ask them and they should politely provide them. If you have the watch in your possession you can also remove the bracelet and the reference numbers will be on the case between the lugs.

If you are looking to buyReplica Rolex Watches and you are undecided between these two models then just keep in mind that the Datejust is slightly bigger. If you are looking for a smaller watch then the Date is your best option otherwise the Datejust is your watch. Also it is important to know that even though they are considered to be men's watches, that standard does not exist anymore since they are very popular among women and the trend is going toward bigger watches everyday.

Rolex also modified the earlier four-digit case reference number to a five digit number. Also during this time, the Oyster date, which was similar to the Datejust, was introduced. The only distinguishing feature was that it was 2mm smaller. The "midsize" version of the Datejust was available and was approximately 80% of the original size. After much success, the Datejust which was only offered in 18kt yellow gold,
