Make sure to use a sunblock with an SPF of at least 30. The higher the SPF the longer it will protect you throughout the day. If you would like to avoid the hassle of reapplying all the time then this is the best way forward.2. Buy new sunscreen every year. The sun protecting ingredients found in creams tend to wear off after twelve months. Therefore it is important to buy new products every year.3. Take a break at midday. The sun is at it's hottest in the middle of the day, which is why it is the ideal time to step out of it and go for lunch. You should however, continue to keep sunscreen on even when you are sitting in the shade.4. Wear sunglasses, hats, and shirts. Sunscreen alone is not enough. Ideally, you should wear hats and glasses when in hot weather. If the weather is very hot, it might be worth putting on a t-shirt as well.The sun is a very powerful planet, and with all of the holes in our ozone layer its negative effects are impacting us and the Earth we live on in a very dramatic way. Reducing carbon emissions, using less energy, and tackling pollution in a serious way is the start to ensuring that these holes don't get any bigger. Some scientists have developed ideas that are much more advanced however. Roger Angel for instance, wants to build a huge glass cover or screen for the Earth. It would be a thin screen, blocking only one part of the Earth but as it orbits, it would provide enough protection to block out the necessary sunlight.
