The open ceremony
The same to the Beijing Olympic Games, on the November 12th Guangzhou, China hold the Opening Ceremony solemnly for16th Asian Game, with lavish stagecraft, costumes, fireworks and performers welcoming participants. Competition events
After three days' competition, China won 37 gold medals, 14 silver medals, 12 bronze medals; China ranked first temporarily. Korea ranked the second, 36 medals in total. Japan the third, 43 medals. Wushu, the Chinese martial arts, offered the first of 28 gold medals up for grabs Saturday and two-time world champion Yuan Xiaochao obliged by winning the Changquan discipline in confident style before 10 am. on day one of competition. Yuan Xiaochao won the first gold medal for China.
