In February, the number of employees voluntarily quitting surprisingly surpassed individuals getting fired at their jobs. This hasn't been the case since 2008. A consistent 2.7 million people quit their jobs every year but this number decreased to around 1.87 million in 2008. The economy is now coming out of a recession and therefore this number is rising dramatically. People are looking for better jobs the start of 2010 and therefore quitting their old ones. When the market gets even better, 60% of workers are quitting to find better jobs.

Potentially, around 2 million people quit their job each year. This means that these people are actively seeking better positions or getting a better education. Where are they looking for jobs? Well the internet of course. How else are people supposed to look for jobs?
Lets say a huge percentage are looking for jobs, 90 percent. This means that 10 percent are looking for a better education. 200,000 people are looking for a better education each year. And these individuals are middle aged! If you add together high school students, unemployment and individuals who just want a higher education then we are looking at at least a million people on the internet each year looking for an education.
This is why the lead generation industry is suddenly taking a huge leap forward. Specifically, education leads are extremely popular. The profit margins are exponentially increasing as well as the supply of leads. For universities, helping students get a degree is rewarding.
