subject: How To Fix Windows Errors And Registry Problems By Yourself? [print this page]

Have you ever think of a situation that Windows registry get errors and bring a lot of troubles to you?

I came across such a Windows error this morning.

Usually I dont shut down my office computer, and there is not many occasion that I have to restart it. But today I restarted it for I think its a bit unstable. The unfortunate error happened--computer keyboard didnt work! I restarted it, entered safe mode, only to find keyboard can be operated for a moment when computer just starts. It didnt work immediately from the minute that the Windows system began to load.

I log on to my computer via remote control, finding Windows errors in device manager the keyboard driver was unable to work. When I tried to fix Windows error, a message popped out saying it cannot be repaired due to invalid registry info.

OK, I figured out the core of problem. Windows registry had errors and part of data got lost, so the keyboard driver cannot work.

Then how to fix Windows errors?

To fix Windows errors, first of all, check if Windows automatic system recovery (ASR) backup exists. ASR is a useful system recovery tool that can help restore computer to earlier status. But it doesnt work for me. My ASR backup lost together with the registry data.

There is another way to deal with Windows errors. Windows system automatically backs up your registry. All you need to do is to copy the backup files and cover the error files. Then your system can be recovered.

Windows registry files are stored under C:WindowsSystem32, while the backup files under C:WindowsSystem32configRegBack. Registry files cannot be replaced under when system is running. So wed better boot computer using CD or USB OS. The next step is to make the backup files cover the corrupted files under C:WindowsSystem32.

Restart PC, and then the problem is solved.

Suppose that Windows errors happened on you. How would you solve it? Perhaps the method above might be difficult for newbie, and then is there simple way to solve all Windows problems at once? Registry Mechanic is a best choice for its excellent performance and reasonable price. One license key can protect up to 2 computers with your single license! Online privacy protection is another feature that makes the Registry Mechanic stand out among fix-Windows-errors utilities.
