subject: New Business Class Seating At Cathay Pacific [print this page] The new Business Class was unveiled on December 7th in a Product Presentation Ceremony in Hong Kong. The ceremony was attended by some ABTNs sister publication Business Traveler Asia Pacific, frequent flyers and media personals.
The new Business Class seating is aimed at raising the bar of standard and will provide a sense of openness and personal space. The airline has also stated that this new Business Class seating will have the longest and widest fully flatbed seats available. It will be installed on the airlines 20 Airbus A330-300s and 30 Boeing 777-300ERs, which operate on long-haul routes.
The first aircraft to feature the new and improved Business Class product will be an A330-300, which will be deployed on some flights to Sydney in March 2011.
Alex McGowan, head of products Cathay Pacify has said that the product is the result of talking to thousands of Cathay Pacifics most frequent customers.
This indicates that Cathay Pacific Frequent flyers are going to be very happy as this flatbed Business Class is sort of customized in design. Also, it will be a one of its kind in the level of service provided.
The airline recently completed the refit of its longhaul fleet for economy, business and lavish first Class. However, the widely anticipated new Premium economy seating at Cathay Pacific is yet to come. John Slosar, Cathay chief operating officer, said: The focus is on the new business class. We can talk about that (premium economy) in due course.
