It may seem very difficult to distinguish between which of these apparently fantastic opportunities actually have any foundation, but in reality it is a simple process.
Rule 1: If you have to pay for it, DON'T
First an most important rule when looking for any work from home opportunity is, DO NOT PAY FOR IT! If they are charging you for this information then 99.99% of the time, this is the scheme they are going to sell to you.
There will be nothing worse than handing over your hard earned money simply to receive an email stating "Do exactly what I am doing"..
Ok there is a chance that if you put the time and effort in to do as they do, then you may make a little money, but it will NOT be how much they claim it to be, and YOU will then be the person scamming people. Is this what you want?
Rule 2: Avoid Pyramid Schemes
A Pyramid scheme is a concept that has been around for hundreds of years, and simply put requires people to pay a fee to join the pyramid/group/team, and then recruit others to join who then pay you, and so on and so forth.
Now there are a number of reasons not to try this scheme.
Firstly, it is a gamble, that relys solely on you being able to find a large number of people also to join up.
Secondly, it is illegal in many countries across the world, including UK, Australia and the USA.
Thirdly, lets say each person enrols 6 people into the scheme... by the time it is 13 levels in size, for it to carry on growing in this way there are no longer enough people in the world to sustain it!
Simple advice, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Rule 3: Gambling, is Gambling!
Many people offer gambling "tips & tricks" as surefire ways of making money at home, and yes they may improve your chances of winning... However, gambling is, and always will be gambling, and the house ALWAYS wins!
Best Advice, stay away from online casinos, betting sites and bingo sites, because ultimately, you will lose your money!
So can I ACTUALLY earn money from home?
The answer to this question is of course yes, and here are a few useful examples.
Dropshipping - There are a number of reliable sites out there that offer a dropshipping service. In essence this means that you sell their products for them, however you only buy the stock once you have sold it! This is ideal for anyone starting out, or who wants to sell all sorts online but simpy doesn't have the storage! A good example is ATS Distribution which sell over 4500 Products!
Offer a Service - Another great way to make money from home is to offer a service that you can provide from home, to others. Some good examples of these kind of things are Website Design, Logo Design, Email Marketing, Video Editing etc. You may find that you have done something for yourself in the past, maybe organised a party or event, but never actually thought other people would want you to do it for them? Chances are if you can do something, and do it well, people will pay for you to do it for them! Have a think about your skills!
Make something - There are plenty of crafts out there which can make you some pennies online. A friend of mine makes little butterfly clips for children's hair, and someone else I know makes a nice living from making personalised greetings cards in his office. Find something that you can make cheaply from home, and sell it. The best place for this is eBay, because of the sheer volume of traffic their site gets per day.
Marketing - Many websites offer pretty large rewards if you can direct customers to them! Casinos are a good example and other betting sites, as well as insurers and some online retailers. To access these there are various affiliate marketing sites such as Uffiliates which offer great rewards for a number of different sites, and all you have to do is divert the traffic to them!
Create a WebShop - The other main source of income I can reccommend does involve a bit of start up capital, however if you can invest in something good, you will get a good return. Buying stock directly from the supplier means that you can compete better with the competition on prices and offer a better service. There are plenty of "out of the box" solutions out there, but there is one I reccommend, BIG COMMERCE. They offer a fantastic website solution, that enables you within 5 minutes to have an online shop that looks as professional as the big players!
There are of course other ways to make money online, and I am sure that you will think of them, however I have tried to outline as best I can the best and worst things to do!
