1.First of all, you have to find out if your workplace has an electronics recycling program. If there is one, it makes things easier for you as you just have to drop off your old electronic goods at their collection center at work.

2.You could always ask friends and relatives if they want the video game system or TV you plan to get rid off. This way not only wills the electronic equipment used more, it also earns you the gratitude of the recipient and also perhaps some cash, if you sell it to them.

3.However if you are giving away or selling your computer, make sure you erase any sensitive information in it before giving it away. You can always recycle electronic equipments by donating them or by advertise about giving them away on Craigslist. With donations, you can claim tax deductions.

4.Most electronic companies today have recycling programs for their own brands or the equipment they sell and for other electronic goods as well. So ask these companies about their recycling programs; if you are lucky, you may get a discount on the next purchase if you recycle with them.

5.You could always check with your town or city government for any electronics recycling program they may have. If appreciable, find out where their drop-off location for electronic goods is.

6.The internet will also be able to give you some information on the nearest available recycling units.
