List Building Secrets Revealed

It has been proven that for every subscriber you have in your list, it equates to $1-$2 per month. Therefore if you are thinking the bigger the list of your subscribers, the more money you will make a month.

That is only true to a certain extent.

When it comes to list building, the quality and responsiveness of the list is very important. I would definitely choose to have a small list of quality subscribers over a huge list who does not even open my emails to read.

So what are the secrets to building your list of quality and responsive subscribers?

Firstly you will need a squeeze page. A squeeze page is a simple one page website that offers a free gift to the visitor in exchange for their name and email address. A good squeeze page can convert at 40%-50%. Which means 5 out of 10 people who visit your squeeze page should opt in to your list.

For a good squeeze page to convert well, you will first need to provide the subscribers with a free gift. The gift can be anything from an ebook, a free report, a video or anything of value. Secondly, you would want to create a super compelling headline which stands out to grab the visitor's attention. Lastly you will need to list the benefits about your gift to bait the visitor into giving you their name and address in exchange for your valuable gift.

After having your squeeze page set up. It is time to generate traffic to it. There are many ways you can generate traffic to a website. Some of which are article marketing, blogging, video marketing, social media or even using pay per click (AdWords) and pay per view traffic which is also called contextual advertising. Choose a few methods which you find comfortable and focus your efforts on those.

After you have set up your stream of traffic, you would have to appear as an industry expert providing quality content to your subscribers. You should be sending out emails to your subscribers frequently within the first few weeks to establish your presence. After a few weeks you can reduce the frequency of your emails to a 'once a week' type of newsletter.

Once you have successfully built up your list of subscribers, do not ruin your reputation by emailing a sales letter in every email. People will get tired of seeing sales letter after sales letter and eventually unsubscribe from your list. What you should do is focus on how you can provide more value to your subscribers an occasionally promote a good product that you have either tested yourself or someone else's product whom you regard as an expert in the niche.

It is also good to send out surveys to find out what problems your subscribers are facing. You can then provide them with the solutions to their problem and it would build a good relationship with your list.

Lastly your list should be closely guarded as it is an extremely valuable asset. So shouldn't you be working hard to build your quality list of subscribers?
