Heart Disease Information What Is Angina Pain And How It Is Prevented

How will you differentiate angina pain from just an ordinary pain? How will you prevent it from taking control of your life as well as your future? Let's discuss angina and its treatment in this article.

Cardiovascular problems are the world's toughest silent kills. They could attack anyone and anytime, regardless of age, race and gender. But those who are mostly attacked by this culprit are the highly risked people. They are those who live with unhealthy lifestyle, who lacks exercise and eats unhealthy diet.

The most common symptom for cardiovascular problems is Angina Pectoris. It is a pain (can be dull or sharp) felt in the chest particularly on the life side. It can radiate into the left shoulders, neck as well as the jaws. It could be regular and irregular in rhythm and is triggered by activities such as jogging, running, sports and carrying heavy loads. Body fatigue, stress and depression could also precipitate the symptoms.

There are several managements for angina. They include drugs such as pain relievers or nitroglycerin patches. Home remedies like adequate rest and breathing exercises could relieve the symptoms. Dietary supplements are also sold in the market today. But the easiest way to relieve as well as prevent angina at the same time is to alter or modify the risk factors associated with the disease.

Risk factors which could be prevented or altered are the following:

1. Sedentary lifestyle Have some light exercises every morning, such as walking, or taking your dog out in the backyard. Prevent activities that just require you to sit all day at home. You could also do some chores at home.

2. Cigarette smoking and alcohol abuse Prevent this habits or gradually reduce them to promote general body health.

3. High cholesterol diet Limit fats in your diet. Obese persons are more prone to cardiovascular problems especially arthrosclerosis which is the most common cause of Angina.

Knowing what to do will help you solve your problems. But it doesn't mean that you just have to take it for granted. Regular check-up is a must.
