I have seen prices for the Canon iRC2380i as low as 1,875+vat, too good to be true I hear you ask? A lot of pricing (not all) you will see advertised is for the base specification machine, a headline grabber if you will, you will then be asked if you want the cabinet or an extra two cassettes (both at an extra cost), then there's the document feeder (DADF) which again is an additional cost (otherwise you will receive a platen cover). The general rule of thumb is if it's below 2,295+vat you will be expected to pay more than the advertised price. Then come the service support which in most cases is more important than capital / lease cost of the equipment, I have seen some companies offering service support at only 3p per page including toner (you cannot operate these machines at that cost) and some offering for as high as 7p per page, realistically you should be looking somewhere in the middle at around 4.5-5p including toner and for someone who doesn't intend on locking you into lengthy service support agreements which exceed your leasing period.
