For a lot of people, not having enough capital seems to be the common excuse not to start a business. If not, we cling to our jobs because we think that it is the secure and sure way to earn money. You can build the highest quality and innovative products but without the right market, people who wants to buy your product or service then there is only one destination for your online business... Failure. Research the market first, research your competition... What are others missing out and do that. Of course that is only one strategy... Others would try to narrow-down their focus (otherwise known as a niche) and concentrate on the smaller part of the big pie. For example, a big company offers a solution and has a 60% share of the market. Other smaller companies own 10, 5, 4, 2 percent of the market. If this market is so big, then even having just 1 percent of that total market would be profitable for you.
2. Solution - This is what you offer to the market and the more the solution fits a need, the more profitable a business becomes. You don't need to be technical in order to implement your ideas... There are many websites on the internet where programmers lurk and usually for a cheap price you can have your idea into reality. Build strong relationships with your programmers as this is key in order to properly communicate your ideas. Your idea may not require a lot of programming such as if you ever decide to start a blog business instead so that you are selling information that people are looking for.
Starting up a business, whether online or offline requires a lot of hard work. However, this will pay off in due time and you will enjoy the fruits of your labor.
