PARIS, France - October 7, 2010 - Blizzard Entertainment, Inc.. announced today that the number of subscribers for World of Warcraft , its role-play massively multiplayer online (MMORPG) rewarded with numerous awards, now exceeds 12 million players worldwide. This milestone was reached after the launch of the second expansion to World of Warcraft, Wrath of the Lich King , mainland China. This global popularity continues to grow since the announcement of the release of the third expansion of the game, Cataclysm , December 7.

Since its launch in North America November 23, 2004, World of Warcraft has become the most popular MMORPG in the world.
