subject: Christmas 2010 - How To Decorate Home On Christmas [print this page]

Christmas is fast coming and we know its time to decorate our homes, this is to welcome the season with a festive mood. But with the present economic situation one cant stop and wonder how anyone can squeeze Christmas decorating in our ever decreasing budget. If you noticed, most houses seldom change their decorations, most look the same every year and if there are some changes they are very minimal. This only show that Christmas decoration ideas especially small budget ones are much needed and would help families a lot. So here are some tips on how to minimize expense, but still give your home that Christmas festive feeling that your family would surely love.

One thing you can do is to optimize stuffs that you already have. You can use old toys like teddy bears or any stuffed animals and just add some Christmas flare on each one. For cute cuddly animals dress them up with winter clothing, attach candy canes or Christmas related food. Even Christmas books or small boxes wrapped as presents would give these toys the festive look they need. These toys can be arranged under the Christmas tree or focal points in the house.

Concentrating on windows is good also, for its effect could be seen both indoors and outdoors. You can use strings or yarn for some toys and hang them on the edges of the window or on top. Another good touch is by using spray on window snow, these sprays are not too expensive. Just make time to make paper stencils to use as patterns, white paper snowflakes could be added. Christmas stockings are also cheap but effective to put on walls, windows and of course the chimney. Wreaths are also cheap and can be placed all over, just add small flowers or small Christmas toys. Pine cones are great touches in any of these decorations, plain ones are ok or you can spray the tips with gold or white color for extra effects.

These Christmas home decoration tips can help all of us stretch our Christmas budget a little. Recycling on previously used decorations can give our homes the festive look and mood we are going for, thus leading to minimal expense or even none at all. May you have a blessed Christmas and happy decorating!
