As you can see above these thoughts are very negative, and one negative emotion leads to another negative emotion and this soon becomes a vicious circle. The accumulation of negative thoughts will put you in a state of depression where you feel completely wiped out and exhausted. Some people may say that they can't help their feelings, but the reality is that you can choose to think positive thoughts. So here's what you do.

The first step to eliminating depression is to eliminate negative thoughts. Focus on what is right in your life instead of constantly thinking of what may be going wrong. Take a good look at yourself and think about all the positive qualities in you. Think about how you can succeed, incase you feel like you have failed so far in your life. Think about the places you can go to meet someone. Always think that you can do something positive when you feel like negativity is taking over your life.

If a relationship has ended, avoid wasting energy and time trying to win the other person. If they prefer not to be part of your life, then it is time to move onto someone who desires to be with you. Don't think that you will end up alone, or that you can never love again. Focus instead of what the right kind of relationship might be for you with someone who is right. If you lose your job, don't try getting it back. Focus on the next positive step. A change may be what is good for your life. Find something new and make a living in a different way.

When you focus on eliminating negative thoughts and concentrating on positive ones, you begin to feel like a new person. This will end your state of depression. Remember, that the subconscious mind likes new challenges and positive thoughts will provide a new way of life.
