If your windows XP computer is running slow there are a number of causes for it. The main cause is that your registry needs cleaning.
My what? I hear you ask. Your registry is part of the computer that registers all the changes in software that you make and also changes to your hard ware. I had no idea it existed either.
Think of it as a log book that logs everything you do on the computer. The problem with the registry is that sometimes programmes that are removed leave a small piece behind. As you get more and more bits of programme in your registry the slower it works.
Now you may say you don't mind a slow computer as you have the time to wait. Unfortunately, leaving it is not the best option as eventually your computer will crash and you could lose everything. I nearly did.
Don't despair. There are a number of options buy a new computer, take it to the computer shop for repair or do it yourself. The latter used to be very risky and time consuming but now it's easy to do.

There are many Windows XP registry cleaners out there on the internet. Some are free but often are not as good or easy to use as the bought ones. I tried a few, and found you do get what you pay for.
