subject: Bookeen Cybook Gen 3 Display And Design [print this page]

Cybook Gen 3 doesnt have a keyboard or touch screen unlike Kindle. This makes the device for viewing purposes only. This is intended for booklovers who just loves to read and read. If user adds more books to the device, they have to scroll down through all the books saved to find what the user wanted to find.

This eReader does not have a standby mode which is quite important for most readers but then there is an on and off which they can use every time readers wanted to take a break.

Just like any other device, Cybook Gen 3 also uses e-ink technology which makes the reading experience excellent. This feature makes the letters and words on the screen look more print-like in appearance rather than digital appearance. It has a very sharp and clear screen making the texts looks fantastic and doesnt give the eyes stress. The font sizes also are adjustable to different levels which helps those visually challenged readers read it clearly.

One of the best things about this new wireless reading device is its size. It is very thin and in fact, the diameter is only 85 mm and the weight is just 174 grams. In fact, this is much thinner and more compact than Amazons Kindle 2 device. This device incredibly fits well into pockets and bags. This is very comfortable to hold even in a long period of time.

This device has very few keys and inputs and the face is sparse. The screen size is just 6 inches and is the one and only function key surrounded by four directional buttons for moving up, down, left and right. The keys of this device are less intuitive and have more change of accidental page turning but then again, the key configuration still does its job.

This devise supports playing of music so the user wont be tied up with just reading. Reader will have more options on what to do aside from reading and that is listening to favorite music.

The menus are located along the lower left spine of the device as well as the back, music and delete buttons. The location may be a little inconvenient but it is still good enough. There are plus and minus keys on the right spine of the device which is used to control the volume when playing music.
