How to Protect Your Gmail Login from Prying Eyes

One of the most convenient ways of communicating these days is by using electronic mails. People send out mails, pictures, files within seconds to hundreds and millions of people across the World Wide Web. This could not have been possible many years back thanks to the big and successful Company called Google.

Google introduced a mailing system known as Gmail. Gmail Stands for Google Mail.

To be able to send and receive mails on your laptop or desktop, you have to have an account which you need to register by giving your details such as your name, address and a secure password which you will be using every time you want to login your account.

Over the years, the tendency of people been more curious has lead to an illegal habit of wanting to pry in to peoples e-mails (electronic mail) to read what other people are sending and receiving. This is known as hacking. Hacking is breaking into or gaining access by breaking the security credentials of a software application.

So how can you prevent or make it more difficult for people to pry their eyes into your login details?

Assume you have already setup your gmail account. One thing you would like to do to protect your login in is to use a strong password. A password is the key for opening the gmail account where your private mails are. So, making the key stronger, you make it difficult for anybody gaining access to your mails. A strong password is the one that contains characters, symbols and numeric characters. a good example of a strong password would look like this 1@w3wFJ45#gmAL. Such a password would be very difficult to guess or crack.

The second thing you would need to do to protect your gmail login from prying eyes is to have a security question. A security question is required to authenticate that you are the owner of the gmail account. It comes in very handy when you forget your strong password and you can not login to your gmail account. By providing the answer to the security question you are able to change your password and re-enter it during the login session and there you go, you have access to your e-mails. Anyone trying to login to your account would not be able because they do not know your password and they do not know the answer to your security question.

The third point you should remember to protect your gmail login from prying eyes is to keep your login, password, security question and its answer as a secret. If you are the only person with this information, a second party or third party will not be able to gain access to your gmail account. Also it is important not to write down your login information on pieces of paper on your working desk.

Lastly, remember to log out from your gmail account whenever you are using a computer or a laptop that is use been used by many people. These would be in cyber cafes or at your work place. Leaving your account without logging off is just like leaving your house unlocked. This would be an easy way to let people read your e-mails or rob your house respectively.
