For all those who are still ignorant about Arjun Tendulkar and fail to make the direct connection with Sachin [the surname is a clear giveaway], he is the 10 year old son of world famous Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. Born on 24th September 1999 in Breach Candy Hospital of Mumbai, this kid was blessed with good fortune since birth. His parents Sachin and Anjali Tendulkar already have a daughter Sara who is 2 years elder to Arjun.
Naturally expectations have been high since Arjun's birth. Almost everyone would like to see him follow in his father's footsteps. Sachin is not far away from these expectations. He too has on more than one occasion made his intentions clear about seeing Arjun joining the Indian cricket team. Perhaps the seriousness of this desire can be seen through the cricket training camp which Arjun joined at the age of 8!
But it is not like he is being pushed forcefully in the direction of cricket. The child actually nurtures fond desire for badminton as well for which he receives special coaching. Arjun Tendulkar can be found cheering and shouting for his father from the stands at Sachin's matches!
Recently Arjun made news with his national cricketing debut in the under-13 Cadency Trophy held at Pune in January 2010. His team MIG club failed to win the cup but Arjun registered his presence amongst all present. His current coaches at the club are Chandu Bhatkar and Jagdish Chawan.
All hopes are pinned on Arjun Tendulkar and his prospective debut in international cricket which will soon take place in few years time!
