Low Fat Diet Plan:
Get guilt out of your life! But be aware that you will have to pay for your snack by putting your weight goal back somewhat. However, if the snack is important enough, maybe it's worth the price.
You decide.

Let me give you an analogy, using a non-weight situation. A woman I knew announced to her husband that she wanted to go back to college and get her bachelor's degree. She was fifty years old at the time. Her husband said she was being silly.
"After all," he pointed out, "you'll be fifty-four years old by the time you finish."
"Well," she responded, "I'm going to be fifty-four in four more years anyway, so I may as well be fifty-four with my degree!"
You may feel that by extending your weight-loss program you will be wasting time. But don*t forget, like the above woman, time is going to pass anyway, so if you get thin a bit slower, you'll still be using the time positively.
If you tailor your reducing plan to your own lifestyle you will be successful. You will also enjoy taking control of your life. Fit that between-meal hunger into your plan and make it work for you.
You can still have snacks and make them work for you. Let me repeat this. It is very important. Each time you decide you are going to eat something between meals promise yourself that you are going to think about it. By that I mean, ask yourself, "Do I really want this?" If the answer is yes, have it. But if you are making excuses to overeat, don't have it. Pass up the snack. Make sure you are deciding, not the food.
Don't ever forget that you are the one who decided that your goal will take a longer time to reach because you have chosen to eat that snack.
At some point you may decide to alter your decision. Or, perhaps not. Just keep yourself aware. And eliminate unconscious eating.
Let's go back to cravings. I understand these very well. We all have them. You don't have to be in the advanced stages of pregnancy to understand strong food desires.
I once heard about a school teacher ,who had a weight problem. She was at her desk when the class returned from lunch break. One of the students walked in nibbling on a donut.

After taking a few bites the student tossed it into the wastepaper basket. From the moment the remains of that donut hit the basket the teacher could think of nothing else. When the bell rang and the class filed out at the end of the day, she dove for the donut.
Sad? Funny? A bit of both. But which of us can't identify with that story, if only in a small way?
mashed potatoes. Or French fries. Or chocolate pudding. Or whatever it is you love.
