subject: Cities To Fly To For Good Music [print this page]

If you want to check out some good music that you may need to go a little further than downtown, to the latest trendy bar. So here's a few journey you might want to make to check out the trendiest new music scenes.

The first one is for you west coast who will want to catch return flights from Montreal to Las Vegas with Montreal as your destination. Montreal has a fantastic and ever growing indie music scene. If you want folk pop, indie and alternative music, or a simple chunk of good old rock and roll then you should opt for Canada's hottest new music scene. Montreal was the birth place of many of the world's best music stars, with Broken Social Scene, Metric, and Feist and owing a lot to Montreal. And then there's the much more underground but similarly high quality Quebecois and French music scenes.

If the scene in Virginia is a little too tame for you then you want to book return flights from New York to Richmond. You should head first to Manhattan and check out some of the legendary venues there. CBGB's is no longer open but you can still head to the venue and see the place where punk was born, but of course you wouldn't know that from the name which mean "Country, Bluegrass, Blues." Punk was a little different. Another alternative is to head in Brooklyn. There are hundreds of places around the borough to catch a show, especially in hipster central of Brooklyn where you'll find the latest indie and rock music, but many claim the scene is already scheduled to die out soon, so you'd better get on it quickly.

If you really want something fresh, get flights from London to Minsk and see what Belarus's scene is like. There's sure to be something original there.
