We are in no way shape or form in a recession. Why? We are in the New Economic Era Age called the Internet. The reason jobs are going faster than you can imagine is because companies are finding that the internet is cost effective and they can move the job overseas. The internet can save companies millions of dollars. Companies are finding that they do not need their employees.They can advertise on the internet for little of no money and make massive sales.
Many companies are realizing that they do not need any over head, they don't have to pay out benefits if they just use the internet. Now of course its bad for the employee because they have lost their income.
If you think about this, in the Agricultural Age there were Slaves and Hunters, The Slaves catered to the Slave Masters and the Slave Masters provided them with food and shelter for them and their families and they did not make a dime. Than there was the Industrial Age were farmers grew their corps and sold thier goods for a profit. Where people became more independent and were able to be employed and have job security to care for thier families. Now here's the Internet where everything you have ever wanted is right at your finger tips. Education, Shopping, Dating, connecting with others across the world.
The internet is were many are resulting too in order to find ways to make money, find a new spouse and higher their education.
Technology is issuing in a new economic era .It is the INFORMATION AGE. The information age has made the world a smaller place. A child in Compton can get on youtube and see how a kid in Japan is living. You can live in New York and video chat with someone in South Africa.Communication has become amazing over the past 10 years. We are currently living in a global community. The Internet is spreading information rapidly and it's hard for the governments or corporations to deceive people as easily as they once could. The classified documents on Wiki Leaks is an example of that. As the Agricultural age was based on free and cheap labor and the Industrial age was based on mass production and factories , the Information age is based on technology. The technology boom we have experienced is changing the workforce .Because of technology, 6 out of the top 10 jobs in 2010 did not exist in 2004. We are using technology to fix what the industrial age destroyed. New technologies are being created to loosen our dependence on fossil fuels that damage the environment. Technologies are being created to make communication more effective. Websites like Facebook , Google and Twitter have revolutionized the way human beings communicate. All of the recent Billionaires have been created by information technologies.
Our economy is transitioning into a global technology or information based system. The problem with this is that the typical American worker is not prepared for it. Manufacturing jobs are being cut and technology jobs are replacing them. The American education system is severely behind(even on the college level) and foreign workers are becoming more in demand. Countries like India and China have more people registered as geniuses than the entire population of North America.
Currently the American worker, and worse of all the American student, is not being prepared for this new age. Out of all developed countries America is almost last in education. The elimination of jobs is just beginning. It's getting worse. What has happened in Detroit is destined to happen in a lot of cities if we don't prepare ourselves. As the information age is making the world smaller ,companies can hire workers in Australia, Finland, China or India before they hire unprepared American workers. The future of the new American economy will be based in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, all of which the American student ranks last.
This is the hard truth. Things are not going backwards. Low skilled workers are being eliminated and highly skilled workers are replacing them. And a college education does not make you highly skilled anymore. If your profession does not consist of Science, Technology, Engineering or Math then you are disposable . The time is now. PREPARE YOURSELF.
