Do Swingers Practice Safe Sex?
Do Swingers Practice Safe Sex?

Most swingers are very careful and selective about who they sleep with. Most swingers do wear condoms for penetration, although there are some (maybe 10%) who prefer "bareback" (no condom.)

However, any seasoned swinger will tell you it's about personal preference! Before any swinger, whether an individual or a couple, takes part in any sexual activity, all parties involved must agree! Swinging is about fun and mutual respect, so almost all swingers will be sure everyone understands what they are comfortable with and open to first.

Most swingers meet on swingers sites and most of the profiles on these sites say whether the swinger(s) require a condom or not, so you know before you even communicate with someone, just by reading their profile.

However, I have never (not a single time) seen or heard of a swinger using a condom for oral sex. So I suppose there is always some risk of getting an STD, unless you just don't have oral sex.

With that being said, I will saw that in our experience in the lifestyle (over 2 years now) we have not had any issues at all with anyone not wanting to wear a condom. A few were fine with or without a condom, but none were persistent in trying to get us to play without one.

We also never have used condoms for oral sex and although there is ALWAYS risk with that, we have been tested several times and we are clean. We have not noticed any kind of problem with STD's in the swinger lifestyle either.

So to sum it all up, condoms are definitely the norm when it comes to penetration amongst swingers, but not when it comes to oral sex. Overall though, swingers are typically very safe and cautious.
