List building with article marketing has worked for me for years. In fact, the best way I know to build a highly qualified and hyper-responsive list community for free is creating your content with article marketing.
Here's how to do it
Create a great quality article that begins to solve a problem for your prospect and/or gives them at least one thing they can take action on right away.
At the end of each article, offer your prospect more great information from you in exchange for their email address.
Here's what so many people miss. The prospects that make it to the end of your articles are people who have qualified themselves by reading your article and are now raising their hand and saying they want more information and they want it from you. This is really good thing. Give it to them, in exchange for their email address, and you are building your list.
Let's ramp this up a bit
The traffic you get from having your articles on the article directories is a great thing. I've built a highly qualified list this way, but I don't stop there. Neither should you.
A great way to get even more traffic to your articles is to use the Social Marketing platforms to drive traffic to your articles.
While it is true that your Twitter followers, Facebook fans, YouTube subscribers, etc. are lists, they are not under your control. So why not leverage these sites and get prospects from your Social Marketing sites onto your email list?
You can certainly invite all your Social Marketing followers to an opt-in page and build your list. You can and you should.
At the same time, you will get most highly qualified list members by taking them from your Social Marketing lists to your articles. In this way, they are getting a sample, an appetizer if you will, of your content and expertise when they read your article.
This makes them a more highly qualified prospect because they have taken the time to read your entire article and have begun to see how you approach and solve problems and challenges. They have begun to know, like and trust you and now want more information from you.
So now make them desire you and your information by giving them a taste of the next level on information from you in exchange for their email address and are now part of your list community.
