A NORTH-EAST design agency fought off international competition to win a contract with a Russian business school.
onebestway has been appointed by Moscow's largest school of marketing to rebrand its leading business education course.
It will see the Newcastleagency rebranding the RIMA programme, run by the State University of Management in Moscow, and the INHolland University, in Amsterdam.
Although the State University of Management and the RIMA course have been running for more than 14 years, marketing is a relatively new discipline in Russia.
Professor Ludmila Derevyagina, head of the RIMA programme, which has more than 7,000 students, said: "We were very aware that our marketing faculty had a first-class reputation, but without a strong visual identity we did not have a brand that people could connect with."
Her colleague, Vasiliy Starostin, associate professor in marketing at the state university, added: "The RIMA brand has strong potential and needs exposing to the education market.
"I had heard of onebestway from my time in the UK and invited them to pitch.
"The contract went to them because they had a different approach to marketing thinking and clearly understood the challenges faced."
Managing director Michael Owen said: "This is a fantastic project to work on as the State University of Management is pre-eminent in Russia and is focused on demonstrating the role of marketing as a business tool.
"The fact that experts in our field have chosen onebestway above other key international players is testament to the creativity and talent of the team."
