Toyota Etios sedan, the car recently launched by Toyota Motors in India is considered a premium car that is made and packaged with sophisticated technology and advanced features being sold at competitive prices. Right now, the company eyes that the car will be established in the Indian car auto sector alone. The company does not see the car being marketed in the overseas market in the near future.

According to the deputy managing director of the company, Sandeep Singh, they currently have no plans of exporting the new car. The company also speculates that the demand for the Toyota Etios model car in the Indian car market alone is great and should the company plans on exporting the new car to other countries; they will have a hard time catering to the demand in the domestic market. Around Rs 3,200 crore have been invested by Toyota for setting up the second production plant as well as for the manufacturing of the Toyota Etios. The company however sees the car being launched in the global market but that would only happen after a long time. Base on their schedule, the car will be unveiled in Brazl in 2012.

Toyotas new bet in the Indian auto market, the saloon version, is expected to give a tough competition to the other established car models such as Maruti Swift Dzire and Tata Manza. As for their ex-showroom in Delhi, the sedan version manufactured by the Japanese car manufacturer is sold at Rs 4.9 lacs to Rs 6.8 lacs.

A total of 4,000 engineers worked for five years to build the savvy sedan that was launched December 1st and tagged as World First, India First. The big name in Japanese car manufacturing plans on enjoying the big chunk of the market with this recently launched car. Another car model, the hatchback version which is Toyota Etios Liva will be set for release on April 2011. Toyota Motors also plans to multiply the production capacity and sees on selling 70,000 units more next year.

Singh added that the company just recently enhanced the capacity of the first manufacturing unit of the company. The second manufacturing plant holds a capacity of 70,000 cars.
