Whether we like or not, people these days love collecting and buying items even if it is not worth saving and keeping. I have to admit, I am part of the population of women who keeps on collecting items where areas and spaces at home are being eaten up. I remember back in my childhood days, I did collect letters, cards, and other stuff that would add up to my memorabilia of each elementary year when I was with my classmates, friends, where the stacks even piled up when I reached High School. Back then, I have not heard yet of self storage things because I would always keep personals in my closet.
These area concerns of many individuals who have the habit of collecting and buying different items, even though there are no available spaces where they can stock them all at home had been addressed a long time ago. These are not being fully utilized, thinking that they can use a single space in their room that would serve as a storage room for all the keepsake items, which could be in a different degree of importance. Women are most identified when it comes to hobbies of compilations of important memoirs in their life even little details of it, is being accounted for.
A storage space is always needed not just when the time comes where you have nothing to place your valuable items. This is not just used to hold back some space at home. It is imperative that each home should have one area where they can store important goods for a year that can be replenished whenever emergency cases are at hand like natural calamities that might hit your area or any place in your country, state, region, or nearby boundary. People seem to ignore, take lightly, and would usually just rely on the available assistance that would be extended by the local government.
This is not an ordinary scenario where you can utilize the self storage principle. Our ancestors in the past 6000 years had also ways of preserving their items in storage pits that are normally situated in underground locations that was witnessed by Bus Victor when he had a trip in Xian, China. He organized an association relating to storage and there were people back in the 1800's who also shared the same history like John Yelland who was the pioneer for keeping valuable bank items through extended voyages. A moving storage was devised in 1850's for transport of items and goods until the first warehouse was built.
The history did not end in 1850's. The evolution and changes continued for stacking of the items in one place until 1920's came in to the picture where personal storage space had been arranged between the client and warehouseman who would be on guard to take care, control, and keep the custody of the items. Years followed from 1960 to 1977 where different models and sizes of warehouses had been presented to meet all the demands of people in maintaining a space in their home.
