subject: How Do I Train To Be A Pilot [print this page]

Pilot training is a long procedure, and you require many hours of practise. But thousands of people are trained to be pilots, and you could too.

If you want to enjoy the glitz and glamour of a pilot's lifestyle then you should first seriously consider if it's something that you are physically, mentally, and emotionally prepared for. It is not a simple process to sign up to be a pilot and it could cost you thousands of dollars. But don't let that put you off. First off, you should go on the Internet and search to find out exactly how difficult it is to be a pilot. Read on a number of Internet forums about pilots' experience of their career, and find out what aspects of the job they enjoy. It may be that you simply would like the freedom of being able to fly without wanting to do it as a career. Either way you should take a few lessons at the airport of a local flying school.

Lessons will help prepare you for deciding if controlling daily flights from Des Moines to Tampa would interest you, or whether it would be a little too boring to do it so much. After taking a number of lesson you should again check the Internet or talk to pilot instructors about the process you need to go through to get your flying license (commonly known as 'Wings') or what you need to do to become a commercial pilots regularly controlling flights from Cincinnati to San Francisco

It will not be an easy process and it may take many years before you can finally become a pilot, and help hundreds of thousands of people fly around the world every year. You'll get to see the world on someone else's budgets, and you'll get to soar through the air. Sound good? Then research is further and soon you'll be the one making the announcements on flights from Philadelphia to Miami.
