Dear Mom: Letters for Every Occasion Nana's Home - By: John Mark

Nana's Home

A New Beginning

September 18, 2002

Dear Mom:

I only have time to write you a short note. I am franticly looking for my other shoe and will be late for my next meeting with Peter and Paul, but I just had to write to you.

Grandma Dukat just arrived and she asked me to say hello to you for her. She is doing great and once again has both legs. I hear great-grandma will be moving out of grandpa's house now that grandma is here with Jesus and me.

It is a wonderful thing that you, dad and Aunt Stephanie are doing by asking Nana to live with you. I know that Aunt Stephanie's house is bigger than yours and that Nana will be going to live with her, but it is so wonderful that you guys are willing to take care of her rather than send her to a nursing home. I mean nursing homes are o.k. for people who need that sort of facility, but Nana, even at age 92 gets around just fine.

By the way, God is very pleased with your actions too. This is the way He hoped we would handle these types of situations. It takes a lot of love, courage, sacrifice and understanding to let someone come into your home to live.

Well I'm off for now. Thanks for making us all proud of you in heaven by your "grand" example.

Love Always
