5 Tips When Using a West Bend Slow Cooker

1. Slow cookers at times can diminish flavor; it is best to season as you go. Be sure to taste it as you go, but don't burn your tongue. You can add a wide array of seasons from garlic powder to seasoned salts.

2. Garnishes are always a good way to spice up the look of your plate. Colors can tend to be drained from the slow cooked food. Add some chives, parsley, lemon wedges, or any other range of garnish. They always add an additional appeal to your plate.

3. If using fresh vegetables like carrots, peppers, or potatoes be sure to place them beneath the meat as they usually cook more slowly then the meat. I also feel it tends to flavor the meat better being underneath of it. Since they can diminish flavor you want all the additional flavor you can get.

4. When buying meat be sure you are buying a cut that is as large or larger than your WestBend slow cooker. It is always easier to cut the meat to fit then it is to have to go back to the store to buy more.

5. When you get your meat try to get it skinless and with the least amount of fat as possible. Anything that is left over be sure to cut off before putting it in your

crock pot.

Hopefully this information helps out a bit for when you are using your West Bend slow cooker. Remember that you can come up with all kinds of different experiments as you never know what might actually taste good. I actually cooked a chicken in coke in a slow cooker and it was great.
