Looking out for a great ELCA church in the Seattle area? I like to recommend Faith Lutheran Church off Lake city Way and 82nd. I have been an affiliate there my whole life and my grandparents helped found the church, so I'm frankly a little biased, but we have great coffee, potlucks and lots of fun Martin Luther trappings on show - so you know we are serious!
Actually, we are a very fun-loving and laid back congregation. We have a Sunday school hour for 3-year olds up through the adult education program which is very dynamic and happens at 9:15 every Sunday. Traditional worship services take place before and after that, and we also have a child care program available during the time that church runs.
For young adults and singles, we have a dedicated youth pastor who has been planning a lot of fun events - going to plays, pub nights and beer making, board game nights, and salsa-making are just some of the things you can expect to look forward to.
We have 2 services every Sunday. Sunday school for kids and a confirmation program for middle school students. Our music director, Nan Beth Walton is experienced and dedicated. She arranges many of the pieces we enjoy in the service.
Our church is located in North East Seattle, off Lake City Way, not far from Northgate mall. We were founded over 50 years ago and have may multi-generational families. Personally, my son makes the 4th generation in my family to attend Faith Lutheran. We come from Lynnwood, WA to attend - the community makes it very worthwhile.
