Pug Training Tips

If you want to accomplish pug training, then you need to have a lot of patience. Pugs are quite slow at learning things and also very stubborn. They don't learn new tricks as quickly as some other breed of dogs do but they can learn these things, only if you are determined to work with your best effort.

The first thing that you should train your pug is about housebreaking. As I have already told that they are quite slow at learning, you need to train your pug with consistence and patience. Let your pug to do his business outside from the first day you introduce him to his new home. Repeat the same thing, each time he is about to do his potty so that it creates the habit in him to go outside for it.

The second thing that you should train your pug is obedience. Obedience training includes the basic commands like "Sit" and "Stay" which every dog owners teach their pugs. These basic commands are very important because it assists you in teaching him further commands or complex tricks. After your pug has accomplished these basic commands, you can teach him other commands like "Fetch", "Hand Shake", "Kiss" etc.

Another important part of pug training is leash training. Although your pug cannot pull you around like other big dogs, it is important to teach him to follow you normally on the leash. Sometimes it can be really very useful.

You need to train your pug in such a place where he cannot be distracted easily. They are supposed to get distracted even by the slight smell of a small critter. So, train him in a quiet and lonely place where he can only keep his focus on you.

Your pug might make lot of mistakes but you should be kind enough to forgive him for it. We learn by mistakes. Similarly, they also learn through mistakes. So, correct their mistakes and teach him over and over again. Eventually, he will learn all that you have been training and you will feel proud for accomplishing the pug training.
