We got this item a few days before we were scheduled to go to Idaho. As mentioned in another review, it is not suitable for all vehicles with roof racks. We used it for the 2008 Kia Sorento, and the shelves are fully adjustable and move back as much as possible, and the carrier had to be turned. Instead the band Downs are on the front and rear, we had to bind the carrier on the sides of the roof rack. Other than that minor set-back he has enough space for four large suitcases, dog food, blankets, space for boxes of food that we brought from Idaho, the dog food and blankets were distributed and the big wheels on 2 Y / O which was in the box. Overall, it performed admirably. We have no bad weather, but we had the wind completely out of Cheyenne WY. At the border of Utah. This has an impact on our gas mileage, but after the wind stopped, we were able to get 20 mpg, again.

Great Pak!! Well made and very useful.
If you are looking for an inexpensive pak to store extra items on a trip, this pak is great! THE GOOD-First, this pak is very inexpensive if you have spent any time looking around. Second, it is very well made from a thick, rubber like material that is waterproof, as long as you install it as instructed. Third, this pak holds a few good sized suitcases, along with several other items. Fourth, it is very lightweight in and of itself, and one of the things I liked, is that when you get to your destination, you can simply take it off the roof, fold it down to a 12x12" square and store it away. THE OK...BUT GOOD- This pak comes with what I thought was a strange set of tie downs. I have to admit I was very concerned about them holding on their own, and stopped every 20 min for the first hour to check them on a 1600 mile roundtrip. However, once I decided "if it's going to fall off, it's going to fall off", I drove at 75 to 78 mph and when arrived, the pak had not moved one inch. So apparently, the tie downs work well. Additionally, you have to have crossbars on your vehicle that are adjustable. Not a problem for me, but something to keep in mind. THE BAD- in two words, Gas Mileage. I expected to lose some gas mileage with this on the vehicle, as it is disturbing the natural aerodynamics the vehicle was designed for. However, what I was not expecting was, with my vehicle, a Chrysler T&C, 24/25 MPG Hwy with No Carrier.....18 MPG Hwy with the carrier. I still highly recommend the pak. Just my experience....
Kar Pak Worked Fine
I have used the Kar Pak just once - from Los Angeles to the Oregon coast - and it was fine. It has a large area to fill and the loading worked fine (except I have a SUV and getting the baggage up and into the carrier was a bit of a task - high up). The material seems rugged and durable. The price worth the product. The tie down straps need to be tight as the weight will shift a bit depending on how much weight you have in the Pak.
Works well in a pickup truck bed
I was looking for something to put in the bed of my F150 to keep our luggage dry when we traveled. We loaded the bag up with 3 suitcases and a number of small bags and hit the road for 4 hours in the rain. The bag kept everything dry and didn't move around in the bed at all. It was much less expensive than most other solutions for our needs.

I bought this for a road trip from Wisconsin to Washington D.C. (in our Dodge Caravan) based on many positive reviews. I was able to fit four regular size suitcases and two small suitcases with no problem. It rained almost the entire trip to D.C. but this carrier never moved and everything was completely dry when we arrived. No issues on the way home either. It's basically a big square rubber bag but it works great and I'm very pleased the purchase. Especially for under $40!. I highly recommend!

We purchased the highland 10391 for a trip we were taking to Florida. It worked out great. It holds a lot and attached easy to our car. We drove in rain and everything kept dry. I would recommend this to anyone.
